French-Speaking Tramway Project Director

EWI are supporting a well-known European Consultancy firm who are currently seeking a highly experienced and skilled Tramway Project Director to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage significant tramway and rail projects in France, contributing to the development of cutting-edge transportation solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the successful delivery of tramway projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Manage all project phases, from inception to completion, including planning, design, procurement, and implementation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities, ensuring smooth communication and alignment on project objectives.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to the project team, ensuring all technical and operational aspects are executed efficiently.
  • Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to address any project challenges.
  • Ensure full compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements.
  • Manage and develop relationships with key clients, contributing to business growth and the development of new project opportunities.
  • Oversee the financial management of the projects, including budget tracking and reporting.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in tramway, rail, or transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale tramway projects, ideally within France.
  • In-depth understanding of the French rail and tramway systems, local industry standards, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Fluent in French, with excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex project challenges.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working with prominent stakeholders and high-profile clients in the transport sector.
  • Strong network within the French tramway and rail industry.
  • Familiarity with sustainable and innovative transport solutions.
