Technical Leader, PE – Water and Wastewater Utilities

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced water and wastewater professional to provide technical leadership across utility infrastructure projects in Texas or Florida. This role will suit a licensed Professional Engineer with a strong background in the planning, design and delivery of water, wastewater and reclaimed water systems.

Key responsibilities Lead multidisciplinary teams delivering water and wastewater utility projects from feasibility and concept design through to construction and commissioning. Provide technical direction, quality assurance and peer review for engineering designs, reports, specifications and cost estimates. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulators, contractors and project stakeholders. Support project planning, resourcing, budgets, schedules and risk management. Identify opportunities to improve utility performance, resilience, sustainability and regulatory compliance. Coach and mentor engineers and technical staff, promoting a collaborative and high-performing culture. Contribute to proposals, business development activities and strategic growth across the water sector. About you

You will have substantial experience in water and wastewater engineering, ideally gained within a consultancy, utility or contractor environment. You should be confident leading complex projects, communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences, and making sound engineering decisions within demanding delivery programmes.

Applicants should hold a current Professional Engineer (PE) licence in Texas or Florida, or be eligible for registration through reciprocity. A degree in civil, environmental or water resources engineering is expected, together with detailed knowledge of relevant design standards, permitting requirements and industry practices. Experience with hydraulic modelling, treatment infrastructure, pipelines, pump stations or utility master planning would be highly valued.

What is offered

This role offers the opportunity to influence major infrastructure programmes, work with talented professionals and contribute to projects that support resilient and sustainable communities. Flexible working arrangements may be available, alongside competitive remuneration, professional development and clear opportunities for career progression.
