An international consultancy is seeking an experienced Test & Commissioning Manager to support the delivery of a major rail transit project in Cairo.
The successful candidate will lead the planning, coordination and execution of Testing & Commissioning activities across railway systems, with a particular focus on signalling, systems integration and operational readiness. This role will be responsible for overseeing System Integration Testing (SIT), coordinating multidisciplinary interfaces and leading trial running activities through to project handover.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead all Testing & Commissioning activities across railway systems packages.Develop and manage T&C strategies, procedures, schedules and reporting.Coordinate testing activities across signalling, telecoms, SCADA, power and other rail systems.Manage System Integration Testing (SIT) and interface testing activities.Oversee trial running and trial operation phases.Work closely with contractors, consultants, operators and stakeholders to ensure successful system integration.Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety requirements and international railway standards.Support operational readiness and final system acceptance.RequirementsDegree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.Minimum 15 years of railway experience.Strong specialist background in signalling and railway systems.Proven experience in Test & Commissioning leadership roles on metro, LRT, mainline or high-speed rail projects.Experience managing System Integration Testing (SIT) and Trial Operations.Good understanding of railway systems including:Signalling (CBTC, ETCS, ERTMS, ATP, ATO, ATS)TelecommunicationsSCADAPower Supply & DistributionRolling Stock InterfacesAFC SystemsPrevious experience working on large-scale international rail projects.Middle East project experience would be advantageous

EWI are supporting an international consultancy firm who are seeking an experienced Testing & Commissioning Manager to lead and coordinate all testing, commissioning, trial running and system acceptance activities on a major rail transit project.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the integration, testing and commissioning of railway systems and ensuring that all systems are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements, international standards and operational readiness objectives.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead the planning, execution and management of all testing and commissioning activities.Develop and implement Testing & Commissioning Plans, Procedures and Method Statements.Coordinate multidisciplinary railway systems testing, including subsystem, integrated and dynamic testing.Manage interfaces between contractors, systems suppliers, operators, maintainers and client representatives.Oversee trial running, operational readiness and final system acceptance activities.Ensure compliance with project requirements, safety regulations and international railway standards.Monitor progress against programme milestones and identify risks to delivery.Lead testing and commissioning teams, ensuring effective coordination across all disciplines.Review and approve commissioning documentation, reports and handover packages.Support stakeholder meetings and provide regular progress updates to project leadership.Systems Experience RequiredStrong experience across a combination of the following systems:
Signalling / CBTCTelecommunicationsSCADAPower Supply & DistributionTraction PowerLow Voltage & High Voltage SystemsRolling Stock InterfacesAutomatic Fare Collection (AFC)Platform Screen Doors (where applicable)Ventilation & Tunnel VentilationFire Detection & Fire Protection SystemsDepot SystemsBuilding Services / MEP SystemsRequirementsDegree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.Minimum 15 years' overall experience within railway, metro or transit projects.Minimum 10 years' rail/transit experience in Testing & Commissioning, Systems Integration or Rail Systems Delivery roles.Proven experience leading testing and commissioning activities on major Metro, Monorail, Light Rail, Heavy Rail or High-Speed Rail projects.Strong understanding of system integration and interface management.Previous international project experience preferred.Monorail experience would be advantageous but is not essential.Package€7,500 - €7,750 net per monthAccommodation providedAnnual return flightIncome tax covered by the employerMobilisation supportThis position would suit a senior rail systems professional currently working as a Testing & Commissioning Manager, Systems Integration Manager, Rail Systems Manager or Commissioning Lead on major international transit projects.
