We are seeking a Senior Project Designer to support the delivery of complex land development projects from concept through to construction. This role will suit an experienced civil design professional who can combine strong technical capability with sound commercial awareness, project coordination skills and a commitment to quality. You will work across residential, commercial, industrial and mixed-use developments, contributing to practical, compliant and cost-effective design solutions.

Your responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing engineering designs, drawings, specifications, calculations and technical reports for land development projects. You will coordinate civil design elements including earthworks, roads, stormwater drainage, wastewater, water supply, utility services and erosion and sediment control. The role will also involve undertaking design checks, resolving technical issues, reviewing consultant information, supporting planning and approval processes, and ensuring deliverables meet relevant standards, codes and authority requirements. You will liaise with clients, contractors, surveyors, planners, authorities and other project stakeholders, while providing technical guidance to junior designers and contributing to project programming, fee proposals and resource planning.

To be successful, you will have substantial experience in civil design within the land development sector and a relevant engineering, design or related qualification. Proficiency with industry-standard design and drafting software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, 12d or equivalent, is essential, along with a strong understanding of local design standards, development approvals and construction practices. You will be confident interpreting survey and geotechnical information, managing competing priorities and working both independently and collaboratively. Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to build productive relationships are important. Experience mentoring team members and taking ownership of projects from initial investigation through to construction support will be highly regarded.
