We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer specialising in steel structures to support the design, delivery and technical coordination of complex construction and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will provide senior-level engineering expertise across the full project lifecycle, from concept development and structural analysis through to detailed design, construction support and completion. This role will involve working closely with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, consultants and project stakeholders to ensure that steel structures are safe, practical, compliant and delivered to the required standards.

Key responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing structural calculations, design criteria, technical specifications, drawings and engineering reports for steel structures. You will assess design solutions, oversee the work of engineers and designers, and provide technical guidance on structural systems, connections, temporary works, fabrication and erection considerations. The role will also involve reviewing contractor submissions, responding to technical queries, supporting site inspections, identifying design risks and contributing to project planning, cost control and programme management. You will ensure that all work complies with applicable codes, standards, health and safety requirements and quality procedures.

Applicants should hold a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and have substantial professional experience in the design and delivery of steel structures, preferably within major buildings, industrial, energy, transport or infrastructure projects. Professional registration or chartered status is desirable. Strong knowledge of structural analysis and design software, relevant international standards and steel fabrication and construction methods is required. You should be confident leading technical work, checking complex designs and communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Excellent problem-solving, organisation and decision-making skills are essential, together with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work to demanding deadlines.
