We are looking for an experienced Service Planning Expert to develop and improve first and last mile transport solutions connecting passengers to metro, tram and commuter rail stations.
This is a specialist position requiring significant experience in public transport planning, with a strong focus on station accessibility and first and last mile journeys.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop mobility and service plans to improve access to rail stations.Review existing first and last mile services and recommend improvements.Assess station catchment areas and identify suitable transport solutions.Prepare tender and procurement documents for new services.Produce concept studies, passenger analysis, cost-benefit analysis and implementation reports.Review and coordinate plans produced by transport operators.Work with internal teams, transport authorities, municipalities and service providers.Support public engagement activities relating to new transport solutions.Essential RequirementsBachelor's degree in Transport Planning, Town/City Planning or Civil Engineering.Minimum 10 years' relevant experience.Proven experience planning and implementing first and last mile transport solutions.Strong knowledge of public transport planning, including rail.Specialist knowledge in at least one area of first and last mile mobility.Understanding of the commercial and financial aspects of transport services, including CAPEX and OPEX.Strong report writing, coordination and stakeholder-management skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office.DesirableMaster's degree in Transport Planning, Town/City Planning or Civil Engineering.Experience using simulation models for rail or other public transport systems.The Person We're Looking ForThe successful candidate will be proactive, organised and comfortable managing several priorities at once. They must be able to communicate clearly with operators, technical teams and public authorities, while producing accurate and practical service plans.
Please note: candidates must have direct first and last mile planning experience. General rail, civil engineering or transport experience without this specialism will not be sufficient
