We are seeking a Rail Requirements Management Specialist to support the development, delivery and assurance of complex rail systems and infrastructure projects. In this role, you will establish and maintain effective requirements management processes throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that customer, operational, technical, safety and regulatory requirements are clearly defined, traceable and verifiable. You will work closely with engineering, project management, assurance, procurement and delivery teams to ensure that requirements are understood, controlled and translated into successful project outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include eliciting, analysing, documenting and validating requirements; maintaining requirements databases and traceability matrices; managing changes, interfaces, assumptions and dependencies; and supporting the preparation of requirements specifications, compliance evidence and verification plans. You will monitor the status and quality of requirements, identify gaps or inconsistencies, and provide clear reporting on risks, issues and progress. You will also contribute to technical reviews, configuration management activities, systems engineering processes and stakeholder workshops, helping to ensure that all deliverables meet contractual, operational and safety expectations.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in requirements management, systems engineering or a related rail, transport, infrastructure or complex engineering environment. You should be confident working with structured requirements management tools and applying recognised requirements, configuration and systems engineering principles. Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels. Experience of railway standards, assurance processes, verification and validation, safety-critical systems or regulated projects would be advantageous. A relevant qualification in engineering, systems engineering, transport or a related discipline is desirable.
