Project Manager – Water & Sewer Infrastructure
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex water and sewer infrastructure projects from planning and design through to construction, commissioning and handover. The successful candidate will manage multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and to the required technical and quality standards. Responsibilities will include developing project plans, scopes, programmes and budgets; coordinating design consultants, contractors, internal teams and stakeholders; monitoring progress and performance; and providing clear, timely reporting to senior management.
You will oversee procurement, contract administration, risk management, change control, compliance and project documentation, while identifying opportunities to improve delivery outcomes. The role will involve regular site visits, resolution of construction issues, review of technical submissions, management of approvals and permits, and ensuring that environmental, health and safety requirements are consistently maintained. You will also support stakeholder engagement with customers, authorities, landowners and affected communities, helping to communicate project impacts and minimise disruption.
Applicants should have demonstrated experience managing water, wastewater, sewer, drainage or other major civil infrastructure projects, preferably within a regulated or public utility environment. A relevant qualification in civil engineering, construction management, project management or a related discipline is required, together with strong knowledge of construction methodologies, infrastructure standards, commercial processes and contract forms. Excellent organisational, financial and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and build effective relationships at all levels. Professional accreditation or recognised project management certification would be advantageous. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to essential infrastructure that supports resilient, sustainable communities.
