We are seeking a Project Engineer to support the planning, design, and delivery of water resources projects in the Greensboro, North Carolina area. This role will contribute to a range of civil and environmental infrastructure initiatives, including stormwater management, drainage improvements, flood studies, watershed planning, water quality projects, and related municipal or land development work. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, engineers, technical specialists, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to deliver practical, sustainable solutions.
Responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing engineering calculations, plans, specifications, technical reports, cost estimates, and permit applications; developing hydrologic and hydraulic models; supporting grading, drainage, erosion and sediment control, and stormwater management designs; and assisting with field investigations, inspections, data collection, and construction administration. You will help coordinate project schedules and budgets, communicate technical information clearly, review deliverables for accuracy and compliance, and contribute to meetings and presentations. The role may also involve mentoring junior staff and supporting proposals, client communications, and business development activities.
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, water resources engineering, or a related discipline, along with relevant professional experience in water resources or civil infrastructure design. Experience with drainage and stormwater design, hydrologic and hydraulic modelling software, AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, and Microsoft Office is preferred. A Professional Engineer licence, or progress toward licensure, is advantageous. Strong analytical, written, verbal, organisational, and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Occasional travel to project sites and field locations may be required.
