We are seeking a commercially minded and highly organised Preconstruction Executive to support the successful development of construction opportunities from initial enquiry through to contract award. Working closely with estimating, design, procurement, commercial and project delivery teams, you will help ensure that tenders are thoroughly assessed, competitively priced and submitted within agreed timescales. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in construction preconstruction, estimating, bid coordination or project support who is looking to develop their career in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Your responsibilities will include reviewing tender documentation, drawings and specifications; coordinating the preparation of estimates, programmes, methodologies and supporting submissions; maintaining tender trackers and ensuring key deadlines are met; and obtaining quotations from suppliers and subcontractors. You will assist with cost analysis, risk and opportunity reviews, value engineering exercises and the preparation of commercial reports. The role will also involve attending internal and external meetings, recording actions, following up outstanding information and supporting the handover of successful bids to the operational team. Accuracy, strong document control and the ability to manage multiple priorities will be essential.
Applicants should have a sound understanding of construction processes and the preconstruction or tendering environment, together with strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience interpreting technical information, producing professional bid documentation and working with estimating or project management software would be advantageous. You should be confident collaborating with people at all levels, demonstrate excellent attention to detail and take a proactive approach to resolving issues. A relevant qualification in construction, quantity surveying, civil engineering, project management or a related discipline is desirable, although equivalent practical experience will be considered. In return, you can expect opportunities for professional development, varied project exposure and the chance to contribute to high-quality construction proposals from the earliest stage.
