We are seeking an experienced Pipe Foreman specializing in water, sewer, and storm infrastructure to lead field operations on civil construction projects. This role is responsible for coordinating crews, subcontractors, equipment, and materials while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and schedules. The successful candidate will provide hands-on leadership and maintain high standards of workmanship across all phases of underground utility installation.

Key responsibilities include interpreting construction drawings, utility layouts, grades, and specifications; setting daily production goals; assigning tasks; and monitoring progress against project schedules. You will oversee the installation, repair, and testing of water mains, sanitary sewer systems, storm drainage, manholes, catch basins, and related underground infrastructure. Duties also include coordinating excavation, trench safety, shoring, bedding, backfill, compaction, tie-ins, and restoration activities. The Pipe Foreman will communicate regularly with project managers, surveyors, inspectors, utility representatives, and other trades, while documenting quantities, site conditions, deliveries, delays, and completed work. Maintaining a clean and organized site, identifying potential hazards, and enforcing all safety procedures are essential parts of the position.

Candidates should have several years of experience supervising underground utility or heavy civil construction, with strong knowledge of water, sewer, and storm systems. The ability to read plans, use grade and laser equipment, understand elevations, and troubleshoot field issues is required. Experience operating or directing the use of excavators and other construction equipment is an asset. Strong communication, leadership, organization, and decision-making skills are essential, along with the ability to work outdoors in changing weather and manage physically demanding site conditions. A valid driver’s licence, relevant safety training, and experience with municipal or commercial infrastructure projects are preferred.
