We are seeking a Lead Engineer Commissioning (m/f/d) Electrical to take responsibility for the successful testing, start-up and handover of complex electrical systems and equipment. In this role, you will lead commissioning activities from preparation through execution and completion, ensuring that all work is carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with approved procedures, technical specifications and project schedules. You will coordinate internal teams, contractors, suppliers and clients on site, acting as the key technical contact for electrical commissioning matters.
Your responsibilities will include developing commissioning plans and test procedures, reviewing design and engineering documentation, coordinating inspections and pre-commissioning checks, and supervising functional, performance and integration testing. You will identify faults, analyse test results, manage corrective actions and ensure that outstanding issues are resolved before handover. You will also support system energisation, produce commissioning records and reports, contribute to lessons learned, and ensure that all documentation is complete and compliant with project and regulatory requirements. Depending on project needs, the position may involve international travel and extended periods at construction or industrial sites.
You hold a degree or recognised qualification in electrical engineering, automation engineering or a comparable discipline, together with substantial experience in electrical commissioning, preferably within industrial plants, energy, infrastructure or other technically complex environments. Strong knowledge of electrical installation, protection systems, switchgear, control systems, measurement equipment and relevant standards is required. Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating subcontractors is highly desirable. You work in a structured, solution-oriented manner, demonstrate sound technical judgement and communicate confidently with stakeholders at all levels. A strong commitment to health, safety and quality is essential, as are good organisational skills and the ability to work independently under time pressure. Fluency in English is required; additional language skills are an advantage. A willingness to travel and a valid driving licence are expected.
