We are seeking a Commissioning Engineer Electrical to support the safe, efficient, and successful delivery of electrical systems across a range of projects. The role will involve planning, coordinating, and executing commissioning activities from installation through to handover, ensuring that all equipment and systems perform in accordance with approved designs, specifications, and applicable standards. You will work closely with engineering, construction, subcontractor, and client teams to resolve technical issues and maintain project progress.
Key responsibilities will include reviewing drawings, technical documentation, inspection and test plans, and commissioning procedures; preparing method statements, test packs, schedules, and handover documentation; and witnessing or carrying out testing of electrical systems such as switchgear, transformers, distribution boards, cabling, protection systems, control panels, instrumentation, and associated equipment. You will identify defects, coordinate corrective actions, verify that works are completed safely and to the required quality, and provide clear progress updates. The position will also involve supporting energisation activities, ensuring isolation and permit requirements are followed, and contributing to the development of commissioning procedures and lessons learned.
Applicants should have proven experience in electrical commissioning within an industrial, commercial, infrastructure, or construction environment, supported by a relevant electrical engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience. A strong understanding of electrical testing, fault finding, system integration, and health and safety requirements is essential. Experience with commissioning management software, test instruments, electrical protection systems, and industry standards would be advantageous. You should be organised, technically confident, and capable of working independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams. The ability to interpret electrical drawings and specifications, produce accurate technical reports, and communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels is required. A willingness to travel to project locations and work flexible hours during critical commissioning phases may also be necessary.

We are seeking a Lead Engineer Commissioning (m/f/d) Electrical to take responsibility for the successful testing, start-up and handover of complex electrical systems and equipment. In this role, you will lead commissioning activities from preparation through execution and completion, ensuring that all work is carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with approved procedures, technical specifications and project schedules. You will coordinate internal teams, contractors, suppliers and clients on site, acting as the key technical contact for electrical commissioning matters.
Your responsibilities will include developing commissioning plans and test procedures, reviewing design and engineering documentation, coordinating inspections and pre-commissioning checks, and supervising functional, performance and integration testing. You will identify faults, analyse test results, manage corrective actions and ensure that outstanding issues are resolved before handover. You will also support system energisation, produce commissioning records and reports, contribute to lessons learned, and ensure that all documentation is complete and compliant with project and regulatory requirements. Depending on project needs, the position may involve international travel and extended periods at construction or industrial sites.
You hold a degree or recognised qualification in electrical engineering, automation engineering or a comparable discipline, together with substantial experience in electrical commissioning, preferably within industrial plants, energy, infrastructure or other technically complex environments. Strong knowledge of electrical installation, protection systems, switchgear, control systems, measurement equipment and relevant standards is required. Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating subcontractors is highly desirable. You work in a structured, solution-oriented manner, demonstrate sound technical judgement and communicate confidently with stakeholders at all levels. A strong commitment to health, safety and quality is essential, as are good organisational skills and the ability to work independently under time pressure. Fluency in English is required; additional language skills are an advantage. A willingness to travel and a valid driving licence are expected.

We are seeking Energy Storage Electrical Commissioning Engineers at Levels I and II to support the installation, testing, and operational readiness of utility-scale battery energy storage systems. Working as part of a multidisciplinary project team, you will help ensure that electrical equipment, controls, protection systems, and site interfaces are installed correctly, tested safely, and commissioned in accordance with approved designs, manufacturer requirements, and applicable standards.
Responsibilities include reviewing electrical drawings, schematics, equipment manuals, and commissioning plans; supporting inspections and pre-functional checks; performing electrical testing on battery systems, inverters, transformers, switchgear, protection relays, metering, communications, and auxiliary systems; and documenting results accurately. You will assist with energisation activities, functional and performance testing, control-system verification, troubleshooting, punch-list resolution, and handover to operations. The role requires regular coordination with construction teams, controls engineers, equipment suppliers, subcontractors, and client representatives. You will also contribute to job hazard analyses, method statements, daily reports, commissioning records, redline documentation, and lessons-learned activities while maintaining a strong focus on electrical safety, permit-to-work procedures, and site environmental requirements.
Level I candidates should have foundational knowledge of electrical systems, testing practices, industrial equipment, and safe work procedures, together with a relevant technical qualification or equivalent practical experience. The ability to read electrical drawings, use test equipment, follow detailed procedures, and work effectively at active construction sites is essential. Level II candidates should bring progressively greater experience commissioning energy storage or other high-voltage, renewable energy, utility, or industrial systems, with the ability to lead testing activities, interpret complex faults, coordinate field teams, and communicate effectively with project stakeholders. Experience with battery management systems, energy management systems, SCADA, protection and control schemes, medium-voltage equipment, or grid-interconnection testing is desirable. Travel to project sites, extended field assignments, and flexible working hours may be required.
