We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of commercial construction projects from pre-construction through to completion. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated construction professional to work alongside experienced project managers, consultants, subcontractors and clients on projects involving new builds, refurbishments and fit-outs. You will contribute to the delivery of projects safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities will include assisting with project planning, scheduling, procurement and budget monitoring; coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and site activities; reviewing drawings, specifications, programmes and contract documentation; and helping to manage project correspondence, variations, progress claims and reporting. You will attend site and coordination meetings, track project milestones, maintain accurate records, support the resolution of construction issues and help ensure compliance with health and safety, building regulations and quality requirements. You may also assist with tender reviews, cost tracking, risk management, client updates and the preparation of project documentation through to handover.

The successful candidate will have experience in a construction, engineering or project coordination role, ideally within commercial construction. A relevant qualification in construction management, engineering, quantity surveying or a related discipline is desirable, although practical industry experience will also be considered. You should have a sound understanding of construction processes, strong organisational and communication skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Commercial awareness, attention to detail and confidence working with contractors and project stakeholders are essential. Familiarity with construction management software, scheduling tools and standard office applications would be advantageous.
