We are seeking an experienced MEP Design Manager to lead the delivery of coordinated mechanical, electrical and public health design packages across complex construction or infrastructure projects. You will manage the design process from concept through to detailed design, construction support and handover, ensuring solutions are technically robust, compliant, cost-effective and aligned with programme requirements.

Key responsibilities will include coordinating multidisciplinary design teams, consultants, contractors and suppliers; reviewing drawings, specifications, calculations and technical submissions; and ensuring that MEP designs are fully integrated with architectural and structural requirements. You will establish design deliverables, monitor progress against agreed programmes, manage technical queries and design changes, and identify and resolve clashes or interface issues. The role will also involve leading design reviews, supporting value engineering initiatives, maintaining design risk registers, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards, building regulations, health and safety requirements and project specifications. You will provide technical guidance to project stakeholders and contribute to procurement, installation, commissioning and handover activities.

Applicants should have substantial experience in MEP design management, ideally within a construction, engineering, property or infrastructure environment. A relevant degree or professional qualification in mechanical, electrical, building services or a related discipline is desirable. You will need strong knowledge of building services systems, design coordination processes, technical documentation and relevant industry standards, together with experience using design review and collaboration platforms. Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to manage competing priorities and influence stakeholders at all levels. Experience with BIM coordination, digital engineering and multidisciplinary project delivery would be advantageous.
