We are seeking a Senior HSSE Project Execution Associate to support the safe, compliant and efficient delivery of major projects from planning through completion. This role will provide professional Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) guidance to project teams, contractors and site personnel, helping to embed a strong, proactive safety culture across all project activities. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, construction, operations and project leadership teams to identify risks, establish effective controls and promote continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing project-specific HSSE plans, procedures and performance objectives; reviewing risk assessments, method statements, emergency response plans and contractor documentation; and monitoring compliance with applicable legislation, industry standards and internal requirements. You will conduct site inspections, audits, toolbox talks and incident investigations, ensuring that findings are documented, communicated and closed out effectively. The role will also involve tracking leading and lagging HSSE indicators, preparing reports for project leadership, supporting environmental and sustainability initiatives, and providing coaching to employees and contractors. Where required, you will participate in project meetings, readiness reviews, emergency exercises and assurance activities.
Applicants should have substantial experience in HSSE within complex construction, engineering, energy, infrastructure or industrial projects, with a strong understanding of project execution and contractor management. A relevant degree or professional qualification in occupational health and safety, environmental management, engineering or a related discipline is preferred. Recognised HSSE certifications and knowledge of applicable regulatory frameworks will be advantageous. You should be confident working across multiple disciplines, communicating with stakeholders at all levels and influencing safe behaviours in challenging environments. Strong analytical, organisational and reporting skills are essential, together with the ability to prioritise competing demands, work independently and maintain high professional standards. A practical, collaborative approach and willingness to travel to project or site locations may be required.
