We are seeking a Lead Wetland Delineator/Senior Biologist to provide technical leadership on wetland, stream, and other aquatic resource assessments across a range of infrastructure, development, restoration, and natural resource projects. This role will lead field investigations, delineate jurisdictional wetlands and waters, identify and classify streams and other sensitive habitats, and prepare clear, defensible technical documentation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, regulators, clients, engineers, and multidisciplinary environmental teams to support projects from early planning through permitting and implementation.

Key responsibilities include planning and leading field surveys; reviewing maps, aerial imagery, soil data, hydrology, and existing technical studies; collecting and managing field data; preparing wetland delineation reports, permit applications, impact assessments, mitigation plans, and related exhibits; and providing senior-level technical review of deliverables. You will mentor and oversee junior biologists and field staff, coordinate schedules and subcontractors, contribute to scope and budget development, participate in regulatory meetings and agency consultations, and help identify practical solutions to environmental constraints. Occasional travel, outdoor work in varied terrain and weather conditions, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines will be required.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree or higher in biology, ecology, environmental science, natural resources, or a related discipline, along with substantial professional experience conducting wetland and aquatic resource delineations. Strong knowledge of applicable wetland regulations, delineation methodologies, regional vegetation, soils, and hydrology is essential. Experience with wetland permitting, mitigation, habitat assessments, environmental compliance, and technical report preparation is highly desirable. The role requires excellent written and verbal communication, sound professional judgment, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with geographic information systems and standard office software. Relevant professional certifications, specialized training, and eligibility to obtain or maintain required licenses or credentials are advantageous.
