Systems Integration Manager

EWI is supporting a Leading European consultancy firm in the search for an experienced Systems Integration Manager to lead and coordinate all systems integration activities across a large-scale rail project in the UAE.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring the successful integration of all rail systems, subsystems and interfaces throughout the full project lifecycle, from design and procurement through testing, commissioning and operational handover.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement the overall Systems Integration Strategy, ensuring alignment across engineering, construction, testing, commissioning, operations and maintenance teams.Lead all systems integration and interface management activities across multiple project packages and stakeholders.Establish integration methodologies, governance processes and performance metrics to monitor project-wide integration activities.Identify, manage and mitigate interface and integration risks throughout engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning phases.Coordinate verification, validation, integration testing and system assurance activities to ensure seamless subsystem performance.Act as the focal point for systems integration, working closely with contractors, consultants, operators, authorities and package managers.Support design reviews, audits, safety reviews and compliance assessments.Oversee interface documentation, integration reports and project handover documentation.Drive collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery, operational readiness and long-term system performance.RequirementsMinimum 15 years' experience in Systems Integration Management within the rail sector.Strong background delivering complex rail, metro, transit or high-speed rail projects.Degree qualified in Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).Master's degree preferred.Proven experience managing multidisciplinary interfaces across rail systems, infrastructure and stakeholders.Strong understanding of testing & commissioning, systems assurance, verification & validation and interface management processes.High-Speed Rail experience would be advantageous.Currently based in the UAE or willing to relocate

This role is focused on expanding the company's presence within public transport, smart mobility, fare collection, digital payments and intelligent transportation systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, developing strategic customer relationships, leading complex bid pursuits and delivering sustainable revenue growth.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & SalesDrive sales growth across mobility, ticketing, automated fare collection and digital payment solutions.Identify, qualify and develop new business opportunities with transport authorities, operators, system integrators and technology partners.Build and maintain a long-term sales pipeline across the GCC and North Africa region.Develop and execute account strategies to maximise order intake and revenue growth.Lead business development activities from opportunity identification through to contract award.Support the preparation, negotiation and closure of commercial proposals and contracts.Monitor market trends, customer needs and competitor activity to support business strategy. Account ManagementDevelop and maintain relationships with key public transport authorities, operators and strategic partners.Act as a trusted advisor to customers on fare collection, ticketing, revenue management and passenger experience solutions.Support customer retention, service expansion and long-term account growth.Ensure effective coordination between customers and delivery teams throughout the sales lifecycle.Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reporting. Bid & Commercial LeadershipLead complex bids and capture activities for major transportation opportunities.Work closely with bid management, engineering, finance, legal and procurement teams to develop competitive solutions.Ensure all commercial activities comply with governance, financial and risk management requirements.Participate in governance reviews and approval processes for strategic opportunities.Support structured decision-making throughout the commercial lifecycle.Market EngagementRepresent the organisation at industry conferences, exhibitions, customer events and business forums.Develop relationships across the wider mobility ecosystem, including operators, regulators, smart city stakeholders and payment providers.Promote innovative solutions in ticketing, fare collection and revenue management.Gather market intelligence and identify emerging opportunities. Internal CollaborationWork closely with regional and global stakeholders to develop winning strategies and proposals.Support business reviews, forecasts and sales reporting activities.Collaborate with sales operations teams to maintain CRM systems and pipeline data.Contribute to a high-performance commercial culture focused on growth and customer success. Candidate ProfileExperienceMinimum 10 years' experience within mobility, transportation, ticketing, fare collection, smart mobility or related technology sectors.Proven track record in international sales and business development.Demonstrated success in winning new business and delivering measurable sales growth.Experience working with transport authorities, operators and technology partners across the GCC.Strong understanding of fare collection, revenue management, digital payments or intelligent transportation systems.Experience managing complex bids, tenders and capture activities.Strong commercial negotiation and contract management skills.Experience operating within matrix and cross-functional organisations.EducationDegree qualified in Business, Engineering or a related discipline. Skills & CompetenciesExcellent relationship-building and networking abilities.Strong presentation, communication and influencing skills.Strategic thinker with a commercial mindset.Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and opportunities simultaneously.Strong understanding of regional transport markets and business culture within the GCC.Results-driven with a focus on order intake, revenue growth and customer satisfaction.
