Our client is a major international infrastructure contractor, operating as part of a joint venture delivering a strategic cross‑border freight rail project in the UAE. The works include large‑scale civil packages and complex integration with rail systems across multiple interfaces.

The Civils / Systems Interface Manager will sit within the civils delivery team and act as the focal point for managing interfaces between civil works and rail systems. This is a delivery‑focused role, supporting design coordination, construction sequencing, and readiness through to testing and commissioning.

Key ResponsibilitiesManage interfaces between civil works and rail systems (track, power, signalling, depots, OCC/SCADA as applicable)Coordinate with civils package teams, systems contractors, and JV stakeholdersIdentify and mitigate interface risks relating to design, construction sequencing, access, and T&C readinessSupport interface planning sessions, workshops, and issue resolutionAct as a practical link between engineering, construction, and systems teamsRequirementsDegree‑qualified (Engineering or relevant technical discipline)15+ years' experience on major rail or infrastructure projectsStrong contractor or JV‑side backgroundCivils‑led profile with solid exposure to rail systems interfacesComfortable operating in a complex, multi‑stakeholder delivery environmentMiddle East experience beneficial

EWI are supporting a leading international engineering consultancy in their search for a Senior Civil Engineer with strong high‑speed rail experience to manage multidisciplinary detailed design activities for a major rail programme in the GCC. This role will oversee complex civil design packages across tunnels, bridges and stations.

As part of their expanding Systems Assurance team, they are looking to appoint an experienced RAMS & Systems Assurance Engineer to support safety, reliability, and compliance activities across a major national rail initiative.

You'll be joining a globally recognised engineering and certification body known for delivering Independent Safety Assessment, system assurance, and inspection services across complex metro, mainline and high‑speed rail projects worldwide. In the UAE, they play a key role in the safe development and expansion of national rail infrastructure.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for ensuring that all systems, subsystems, and interfaces within the railway meet the required safety, reliability, and availability standards throughout the project lifecycle. This includes assessment, documentation review, audits, and stakeholder coordination, supporting the successful certification and authorisation of rail systems.

EWI is supporting a major rail infrastructure programme in the Middle East, seeking a highly experienced Senior Rolling Stock Expert to lead design development, interface management, and technical assurance of rolling stock systems. This role requires a strong OEM (manufacturer‑side) background, deep technical expertise, and the ability to operate confidently within a consultancy environment.

Key Criteria (Mandatory)13-15 years of Rolling Stock (RSK) experience with proven depth across vehicle systems.Strong proficiency in rolling stock design review, including evaluation of OEM design submissions, engineering drawings, calculations, and technical documentation.Experience working directly for a rolling stock manufacturer, covering the full design and manufacturing lifecycle (not only maintenance or testing).Dynamic, client‑facing personality with consultancy experience, able to engage stakeholders, present confidently, and navigate multidisciplinary project environments.Role Overview

About the Role

Our client is delivering one of the Middle East's flagship high-speed rail programmes and is seeking a highly experienced Independent Safety Assessor (ISA) Project Manager to oversee and lead safety assurance activities on behalf of the end client. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all systems, processes, and deliverables adhere to international safety standards-particularly CENELEC EN 5012x-throughout the full lifecycle of this major HSR programme.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage ISA activities across all project phases for a high speed rail system.Provide expert guidance on safety assurance strategy, assessment methodologies, and compliance with CENELEC standards.Oversee safety audits, assessments, hazard analyses, and review of safety cases.Coordinate with system integrators, signalling suppliers, rolling stock teams, and civil works stakeholders.Serve as a primary interface between the ISA team and the end client, ensuring transparent communication and timely delivery.Ensure safety milestones, approvals, and certifications are met according to project timelines.Produce high quality safety documentation and assessment reports suitable for regulatory submission.

Requirements

Relevant bachelor's or master's degree in engineering (Electrical, Systems, Rail, Safety, or similar).20+ years of professional experience in the rail industry, with extensive exposure to major international rail programmes.Minimum 5 years of ISA experience specifically on High-Speed Rail (HSR) projects-preferably with Tier 1 client or certification bodies.Deep understanding and hands on application of CENELEC EN 50126, 50128, 50129 standards.Demonstrable experience delivering large, complex rail safety assurance programmes.Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.Prior experience in the Middle East is advantageous but not essential.
