We are seeking an organised and commercially minded Estimator to prepare accurate, competitive quotations and support the successful delivery of a range of projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong numerical skills, attention to detail and the confidence to work with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
Key responsibilities Review drawings, specifications, schedules and client requirements to understand the full scope of work. Prepare detailed cost estimates, quotations and tender submissions within agreed deadlines. Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations, ensuring all costs and assumptions are clearly recorded. Complete material, labour and plant take-offs, identifying potential risks, exclusions and opportunities for savings. Liaise with project managers, procurement teams and customers to clarify requirements and resolve queries. Maintain accurate estimating records and contribute to the continuous improvement of pricing processes. Assist with handovers to delivery teams, ensuring project assumptions, budgets and specifications are clearly communicated. About youYou will ideally have previous experience in an estimating, quantity surveying or commercial role within a construction, engineering, manufacturing or related environment. Experience of preparing tenders from technical drawings and specifications would be advantageous. A relevant qualification or equivalent practical experience is welcomed.
You should be confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and comfortable working with estimating or enterprise resource planning systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines without compromising accuracy.
