We are seeking a Project Engineer specialising in waste and wastewater infrastructure to support the planning, design, delivery, and improvement of essential environmental and utility projects. In this role, you will coordinate engineering activities across multiple project phases, working closely with internal teams, contractors, consultants, regulators, and operational stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the required technical standards.

Your responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing technical specifications, drawings, calculations, scopes of work, risk assessments, and project documentation. You will contribute to feasibility studies, concept development, detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover activities. The role will involve monitoring project progress, costs, quality, and programme performance, identifying technical risks, and implementing practical solutions to resolve challenges. You will also support contractor management, site inspections, technical meetings, compliance reviews, and the investigation of operational or construction issues. A strong focus on environmental legislation, health and safety, sustainability, and asset reliability will be essential.

The successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent qualification in civil, environmental, chemical, or process engineering, together with relevant experience in waste, wastewater, water treatment, utilities, or related infrastructure projects. Experience with project delivery, contract administration, engineering standards, and regulatory requirements is highly desirable. You should be confident interpreting technical information, managing competing priorities, and communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills are required, along with a proactive approach and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Professional registration or progress towards professional accreditation would be advantageous.
