We are seeking an Engineer I, Water Conveyance to support the planning, design, and delivery of water infrastructure projects. Working under the guidance of experienced engineers and project managers, you will contribute to the development of pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs, treatment interfaces, and related conveyance systems. This is an opportunity to build practical experience while contributing to projects that support reliable, resilient, and sustainable water services.
Responsibilities will include preparing engineering calculations, technical reports, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates; assisting with hydraulic modelling and system assessments; reviewing survey, geotechnical, and other project information; and supporting the evaluation of design alternatives. You will participate in site visits, field investigations, construction support, progress reviews, and technical meetings. The role will also involve coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, responding to technical queries, tracking deliverables, and helping ensure that designs comply with applicable codes, standards, health and safety requirements, and environmental regulations. You may also support procurement activities and the review of contractor submissions.
Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, mechanical, or a related engineering discipline, with an interest in water conveyance and infrastructure. Relevant internship, co-op, academic, or early-career experience is desirable. Familiarity with hydraulic principles, engineering design processes, technical documentation, and software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, or hydraulic modelling tools will be advantageous. You should demonstrate strong analytical, written, verbal, and organisational skills, along with the ability to manage priorities and work effectively in a collaborative environment. A proactive approach, attention to detail, willingness to learn, and commitment to professional development are essential. Eligibility for registration as an engineer-in-training or equivalent professional status may be required.
