We are seeking a Senior Wastewater Engineer / Project Manager to lead the planning, design, and delivery of complex wastewater infrastructure projects. This role is suited to a licensed Professional Engineer with strong technical expertise, project leadership experience, and a practical understanding of municipal and industrial wastewater systems. You will work closely with clients, multidisciplinary teams, contractors, regulators, and stakeholders to deliver safe, compliant, and cost-effective solutions from concept through construction and commissioning.
Responsibilities will include managing project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, and resources; preparing and reviewing technical reports, calculations, specifications, drawings, and tender documentation; and overseeing the design of wastewater treatment, collection, pumping, conveyance, and related infrastructure. You will provide technical direction to engineers and designers, coordinate multidisciplinary deliverables, support permitting and regulatory approvals, evaluate alternatives, and assist with procurement and contractor selection. During construction, you may review submittals, respond to technical queries, conduct site visits, monitor progress, and support commissioning, start-up, and project closeout. The role will also involve building strong client relationships, identifying opportunities, and contributing to proposals and business development activities.
Applicants must hold a current Professional Engineer (PE) licence and have a degree in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering, or a related discipline. Significant experience delivering wastewater engineering projects is required, ideally including treatment facilities, pump stations, pipelines, and process improvements. Strong knowledge of applicable codes, standards, environmental regulations, and industry best practices is essential, along with proficiency in relevant design and project management software. Excellent written and verbal communication, financial and contract management skills, and the ability to prioritise multiple assignments are expected. Experience leading teams, mentoring technical staff, and working effectively in a collaborative, client-focused environment will be highly valued. Occasional travel to project and client sites may be required.
