Working under the guidance of experienced engineers and project managers, you will contribute to projects involving water treatment, wastewater treatment, pumping systems, pipelines, storage facilities, drainage, and related utility infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to build practical engineering experience while developing technical, project management, and client communication skills.
Key responsibilities include assisting with engineering studies, calculations, hydraulic modelling, equipment evaluations, technical specifications, drawings, reports, cost estimates, and construction documentation. You will help coordinate project activities, review contractor submissions, participate in site visits, monitor progress, and support quality, safety, schedule, and budget requirements. The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, regulatory authorities, contractors, and suppliers to help deliver reliable and sustainable solutions. A bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, chemical, or a related engineering discipline is required, along with relevant internship, co-op, or entry-level experience in water, wastewater, utilities, infrastructure, or process engineering. Familiarity with engineering design principles, technical documentation, and applicable health, safety, and environmental requirements is expected. Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, hydraulic modelling software, GIS, spreadsheets, or other engineering tools is advantageous. The ability to manage priorities, work collaboratively, learn new systems quickly, and occasionally travel to project sites is essential. Professional registration or progress toward professional engineering accreditation is desirable.
