We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Water to lead the successful delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects from concept through to completion. This role will involve managing multidisciplinary teams, coordinating technical and commercial activities, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. You will work closely with clients, consultants, contractors, regulators, and internal stakeholders to establish clear objectives and maintain effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities will include developing and maintaining project programmes, budgets, risk registers, procurement strategies, and delivery plans. You will monitor progress, manage change control, resolve issues, and provide accurate reporting on performance, costs, risks, and milestones. The role will also involve overseeing design development, construction and commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, technical standards, environmental requirements, and health and safety procedures. You will be expected to identify opportunities for improvement, support value engineering, and promote consistent project governance and quality assurance.
Applicants should have proven experience managing water, wastewater, utilities, civil engineering, or related infrastructure projects, ideally within a regulated or technically complex environment. A relevant degree or professional qualification in civil engineering, project management, construction, or a similar discipline is desirable. You will need strong commercial awareness, sound knowledge of contract administration, and experience working with programmes such as NEC or equivalent forms of contract. Excellent leadership, negotiation, organisation, and stakeholder management skills are essential, together with the ability to manage competing priorities and make informed decisions under pressure. A proactive, collaborative approach and commitment to delivering sustainable, high-quality outcomes will be highly valued.
