We are seeking an experienced Resident Engineer – Water/Wastewater to oversee the delivery of complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects from construction through to completion. The successful candidate will act as the principal site representative, ensuring that works are delivered safely, efficiently, to the required technical standards, and in accordance with approved designs, specifications, programmes, and contractual obligations.

Key responsibilities will include supervising contractors and specialist subcontractors; monitoring progress, quality, costs, and compliance; reviewing construction methodologies, drawings, technical submissions, inspection and test plans, and work programmes; and coordinating with clients, designers, utility providers, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders. You will lead or support site meetings, maintain accurate records, assess variations and payment applications, manage requests for information, identify risks, and contribute to the resolution of technical and commercial issues. The role will also involve witnessing testing and commissioning activities, preparing progress and compliance reports, supporting handover, and ensuring that health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements are consistently maintained.

Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in civil, environmental, water, wastewater, or a related engineering discipline, together with substantial experience in the supervision or delivery of water and wastewater construction projects. Professional registration or progress toward chartered status is desirable. You will need strong knowledge of relevant construction standards, contract administration principles, quality assurance procedures, and health and safety legislation, along with experience working with common forms of contract. Excellent communication, organisation, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills are essential. The ability to interpret technical information, make sound decisions under pressure, and work independently across active construction sites is also required. A valid driving licence and willingness to travel between project locations may be necessary.

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Inspector to support the delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will oversee mechanical installation, fabrication, testing and commissioning activities, ensuring all work is completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, inspection and test plans, applicable standards, and health and safety requirements. This is an on-site role requiring regular coordination with contractors, engineers, commissioning teams and project management personnel.

Key responsibilities will include inspecting mechanical equipment and systems such as pumps, valves, pipework, screens, actuators, tanks, lifting equipment and associated process plant. You will review materials and certification, monitor installation quality, witness tests, verify dimensions and alignment, identify defects or non-conformances, and ensure corrective actions are properly closed out. The role will also involve maintaining accurate inspection records, completing check sheets and reports, reviewing method statements and risk assessments, supporting commissioning activities, and contributing to handover documentation and asset records.

Applicants should have proven experience in mechanical inspection within water, wastewater, utilities, industrial or civil engineering environments, together with a sound understanding of relevant construction and quality standards. A recognised mechanical engineering, inspection or trade qualification is desirable, as is experience with pressure testing, welding and fabrication inspection, mechanical completion, commissioning and quality management systems. You should be able to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and inspection documentation, communicate confidently with site teams and contractors, and work independently while maintaining a strong attention to detail. The position requires a proactive approach to safety, quality and problem-solving, along with the flexibility to work across active construction sites and attend project meetings as required. A valid driving licence and relevant site safety certifications may also be required.
