We are seeking an experienced CIP Project Manager/Project Engineer to lead the planning, design, and delivery of capital improvement projects from initial concept through to completion. This role will manage a varied portfolio of infrastructure, facilities, utilities, and process improvement projects, ensuring that work is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. You will coordinate internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include developing project scopes, schedules, cost estimates, budgets, risk registers, procurement strategies, and execution plans. You will oversee engineering and design activities, review technical documentation, manage tenders and contractor appointments, and monitor construction progress. The role will also involve coordinating site activities, resolving technical and commercial issues, assessing change requests, tracking expenditure, and providing regular progress reports to senior management. You will ensure compliance with relevant legislation, codes, permits, health and safety requirements, environmental standards, and quality procedures. Supporting commissioning, handover, close-out documentation, and lessons-learned reviews will also be an important part of the position.
The successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, construction, project management, or a related discipline, together with substantial experience delivering capital projects in a complex operational environment. Professional registration or a recognised project management qualification would be advantageous. You will bring strong knowledge of project controls, design management, contract administration, cost management, and construction practices, along with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Excellent communication, organisation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills are essential. A practical, collaborative approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities, identify risks early, and make sound decisions under pressure will be key to success.
