We are seeking a Senior Environmental Planning Specialist to lead and support complex environmental planning projects across a diverse portfolio of development, infrastructure and land-use initiatives. This role will provide expert advice on environmental assessment, planning approvals, regulatory compliance and sustainable development, working closely with project teams, consultants, authorities, stakeholders and community representatives.

Key responsibilities include coordinating environmental impact assessments, preparing and reviewing technical reports, developing approval strategies and managing planning and environmental approval processes from project inception through to delivery. You will identify environmental risks and opportunities, recommend practical mitigation measures, monitor compliance requirements and contribute to environmental management plans, sustainability initiatives and due diligence assessments. The role will also involve mentoring junior staff, overseeing specialist consultants, managing project schedules and budgets, and presenting clear recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience in environmental planning, impact assessment, statutory approvals or a related discipline, together with relevant tertiary qualifications in environmental science, planning, natural resource management or a similar field. Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, planning frameworks and approval pathways is essential, along with demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary projects and engaging effectively with regulators and communities. You will be an analytical and confident communicator who can translate complex environmental issues into practical advice, manage competing priorities and work collaboratively in a changing environment. Professional accreditation or membership of a relevant industry body will be viewed favourably.
