We are seeking an experienced Wind Field Blade Repair Technician II to support inspection, maintenance, and repair activities at a wind energy site in the Muenster, Texas area. This role performs hands-on composite repairs and related blade service work while working safely at height, on suspended platforms, and in challenging outdoor conditions. The successful candidate will help maintain turbine blade integrity, reliability, and availability through high-quality field execution and accurate documentation.
Key responsibilities include inspecting blades and identifying damage, performing composite repairs such as sanding, grinding, laminating, filling, fairing, and finishing, and using approved tools, materials, and repair procedures. You will assist with rope-access or platform-based operations, prepare work areas, set up fall-protection and rescue equipment, and maintain a clean and organised job site. Duties may also include completing inspection reports, recording material usage and repair details, communicating progress to supervisors, supporting troubleshooting activities, and complying with all site, environmental, quality, and safety requirements. Technicians may be required to work extended shifts, weekends, and in varying weather conditions, as well as travel or stay away from home when project needs require.
Applicants should have practical experience in wind turbine blade repair, composite fabrication, industrial maintenance, or a closely related trade. A strong understanding of composite materials, repair techniques, hand and power tools, and technical instructions is expected. The role requires the ability to work safely at heights, lift and handle equipment, climb towers and ladders, and remain physically active for extended periods. Candidates must demonstrate sound judgement, attention to detail, dependable attendance, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Relevant rope-access, confined-space, rescue, first-aid, or wind-industry certifications are advantageous. A valid driving licence, satisfactory background screening, and successful completion of required medical and safety assessments may also be required.
