We are seeking an experienced Water Operations Supervisor to lead the safe, efficient and reliable operation of water treatment, distribution and associated infrastructure. In this hands-on role, you will supervise daily operational activities, coordinate planned and reactive work, and ensure services are delivered in accordance with approved procedures, regulatory requirements and customer service standards.

Your responsibilities will include supervising and supporting operational staff, allocating work, monitoring performance and maintaining effective shift coverage. You will oversee inspections, routine maintenance, sampling, treatment processes, network activities and the operation of pumps, valves, reservoirs and other water assets. The role will involve reviewing operational data, identifying faults or trends, coordinating responses to incidents and outages, and ensuring corrective actions are completed promptly. You will also maintain accurate records, prepare reports, contribute to operational planning and support continuous improvement initiatives. A strong focus on health, safety, environmental protection and water quality will be essential, including completing risk assessments, promoting safe systems of work and responding effectively to emergencies.

To be successful, you will have previous supervisory experience in water, utilities, treatment, infrastructure or a comparable operational environment. You should possess sound knowledge of water treatment and distribution processes, relevant legislation, workplace health and safety requirements, and asset management practices. Strong communication and leadership skills are required, along with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure and work collaboratively with technical teams, contractors, regulators and the wider community. A relevant technical qualification or trade background, together with appropriate industry licences or certifications, will be highly regarded. You will be organised, practical and committed to maintaining high operational standards while developing a capable and engaged team.
