We are seeking a Development Manager, Wind to lead the advancement of onshore and/or offshore wind projects from early-stage origination through to construction readiness. This is a key role for an experienced renewable energy professional who can combine commercial awareness, technical understanding and strong stakeholder management to deliver high-quality projects in a changing regulatory and market environment.
You will identify and assess new development opportunities, manage site and feasibility studies, and coordinate grid, land, environmental, planning and technical workstreams. Working closely with internal specialists and external advisers, you will build robust project strategies, maintain development schedules and budgets, and ensure key risks, dependencies and decisions are clearly documented. The role will also involve preparing investment papers, supporting financial and commercial analysis, managing consultants, and progressing projects through planning, permitting, land agreements, grid connection and other statutory requirements.
The successful candidate will have significant experience developing wind or other large-scale renewable energy projects, with a strong understanding of the full project lifecycle. You will be confident managing multiple workstreams and suppliers, engaging with landowners, communities, authorities, network operators and other stakeholders, and negotiating effectively to achieve project milestones. Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills are essential, together with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions in ambiguous or complex situations. A degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, environmental science, planning, business or a related discipline is desirable. Experience with project finance, consenting processes, grid connections and energy markets would be advantageous. This role offers the opportunity to help shape a pipeline of strategically important wind projects and contribute to the growth of the renewable energy sector.
