We are seeking a skilled Estimating Engineer to support the planning and delivery of construction and engineering projects. In this role, you will prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates based on drawings, specifications, technical documentation, and project requirements. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, procurement specialists, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure that all costs, risks, and assumptions are clearly identified and documented.

Your responsibilities will include reviewing tender documents, performing quantity take-offs, obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations, and preparing detailed estimates for materials, labour, equipment, and associated services. You will analyse project scope and technical solutions, identify potential cost-saving opportunities, and contribute to budget development, forecasting, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle. You will also maintain pricing databases, support tender submissions, clarify commercial and technical queries, and assist with the preparation of project schedules and risk assessments. Accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery of estimates will be essential to your success.

We are looking for someone with a degree or relevant vocational qualification in civil engineering, construction, quantity surveying, or a related field. Previous experience in estimating, cost planning, tendering, or project controls within construction, infrastructure, industrial, or engineering environments is highly valued. You should be confident interpreting technical drawings and specifications, working with spreadsheets and estimating software, and analysing complex information. Strong numerical and analytical skills, commercial awareness, and attention to detail are essential. You will also need to communicate clearly in English, collaborate effectively with different stakeholders, and manage competing priorities under deadlines. Knowledge of relevant industry standards, contract principles, and procurement processes would be an advantage.
