We are seeking a capable and motivated Civil Engineer II to support the delivery of a range of infrastructure and civil engineering projects. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the design, development and implementation of schemes from concept through to construction. This is an opportunity to take on increasing responsibility while working alongside experienced engineers and technical specialists in a collaborative professional environment.
Your responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, technical reports and cost estimates; undertaking site investigations, surveys and inspections; and developing practical, safe and cost-effective design solutions. You will coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, utility providers and other stakeholders, responding to technical queries and supporting the resolution of design and construction issues. You will also assist with project planning, programmes, risk assessments, procurement activities and contract administration, ensuring that work is delivered to the required standards, timescales and budget. A strong focus on health and safety, sustainability, quality assurance and compliance with relevant legislation and industry guidance will be essential.
Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering and have relevant professional experience in the design or delivery of civil infrastructure projects. Experience in areas such as highways, drainage, earthworks, structures, utilities or site development would be advantageous. You should be confident using industry-standard design and modelling software, with strong analytical, numerical and report-writing skills. The ability to interpret technical information, manage competing priorities and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences is important. Progress towards professional registration, or a clear commitment to achieving it, would be welcomed. A proactive approach, attention to detail and willingness to support colleagues and develop technical expertise are key to success in this role.
