The successful candidate will provide strong field leadership, coordinate multidisciplinary work fronts and ensure all activities are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, schedules, quality standards and applicable health, safety and environmental requirements.
Responsibilities will include supervising piping installation, fabrication, testing and reinstatement activities; planning daily work and allocating labour, tools, materials and equipment; coordinating with engineering, construction, commissioning, quality and project controls teams; and monitoring progress against agreed schedules. You will review method statements, risk assessments, drawings and material requirements, identify constraints and resolve technical or logistical issues promptly. The role will also involve managing subcontractor performance, attending coordination and progress meetings, maintaining accurate site records, supporting inspections and test activities, and ensuring all work is completed in accordance with approved procedures. A strong focus on housekeeping, permit compliance, hazard identification and positive safety leadership will be essential.
Applicants should have substantial experience supervising piping construction on large-scale industrial, energy, petrochemical, infrastructure or process projects. A relevant technical qualification, trade background or equivalent practical experience is required, together with a sound understanding of piping systems, supports, valves, welding, pressure testing, hydrotesting, flushing and commissioning interfaces. You should be confident interpreting engineering drawings, isometrics and specifications, managing teams in a demanding site environment and communicating effectively with personnel at all levels. Strong organisational, problem-solving and decision-making skills are essential. Experience working with project schedules, quality documentation, inspection and test plans, and construction management systems will be advantageous. The ability to work rotationally or at remote project locations, where required, is also expected.
