We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead the safe, efficient and reliable operation of a large-scale solar energy facility. This role will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day plant performance, ensuring generation targets are achieved, and maintaining high standards of safety, compliance and operational excellence. You will provide visible leadership to site-based employees, contractors and service providers while fostering a collaborative, accountable and performance-focused culture.
Key responsibilities will include managing plant operations and maintenance activities, monitoring system performance, reviewing operational data and coordinating corrective actions to maximise availability and output. You will develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies, manage planned and unplanned outages, and ensure all work is completed in accordance with approved procedures, environmental requirements and relevant regulations. The role will also oversee budgets, procurement, inventory, contractor performance and technical service agreements, while maintaining accurate operational records and preparing regular reports for senior stakeholders. You will lead incident investigations, risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring robust emergency response and business continuity arrangements are in place.
Applicants should have substantial experience managing utility-scale renewable energy, power generation or a similarly complex industrial facility, together with a relevant technical, engineering or operations qualification. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, high-voltage environments, solar photovoltaic technology, control systems and planned maintenance practices is highly desirable. You will need proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams, managing contractors and budgets, and working effectively with regulators, network operators and other external stakeholders. Excellent communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills are essential, along with a strong commitment to health, safety, environmental protection and operational integrity. The successful candidate will be proactive, commercially aware and capable of balancing immediate operational priorities with long-term asset performance.
