We are seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to lead the planning, design, and delivery of complex water infrastructure and environmental projects. This role will suit an experienced professional who can combine strong technical expertise with commercial awareness, effective project leadership, and a commitment to delivering practical, sustainable solutions. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, regulators, contractors, and community stakeholders across a varied portfolio of projects.
Your responsibilities will include managing water resources investigations, hydrological and hydraulic assessments, flood risk studies, drainage strategies, catchment planning, and the design of water-related infrastructure. You will prepare and review technical reports, models, calculations, drawings, specifications, and project documentation, while ensuring that work meets relevant legislation, industry standards, quality requirements, and environmental objectives. Professional registration or chartered status is desirable. You will need strong knowledge of hydrological and hydraulic modelling software, water resources assessment methods, flood risk management principles, and relevant regulatory frameworks. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to manage competing priorities, build trusted relationships, and make sound technical decisions. Experience supervising teams, managing budgets and programmes, and engaging with clients and authorities will be highly valued. A proactive, collaborative approach and a genuine interest in climate resilience, sustainability, and innovation are also important.
