We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead the preparation of accurate, competitive and commercially sound estimates for a range of projects. Working closely with operational, procurement, commercial and design teams, you will assess project requirements, develop detailed cost plans and support the business in securing new work. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically capable estimator who can combine strong analytical skills with commercial judgement and a proactive approach.

Your responsibilities will include reviewing drawings, specifications, schedules and tender documentation; preparing detailed estimates, bills of quantities and pricing submissions; obtaining and evaluating quotations from suppliers and subcontractors; and identifying opportunities, risks, exclusions and potential value-engineering solutions. You will maintain clear estimating records, ensure assumptions are fully documented and contribute to tender reviews and presentations. The role will also involve monitoring market conditions, labour and material costs, supporting the development of estimating processes and mentoring less experienced colleagues where appropriate.

The successful candidate will have substantial estimating experience within a construction, engineering, infrastructure or related environment, together with a strong understanding of costs, contracts, procurement and project delivery. You should be confident interpreting technical information, using estimating software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and producing accurate work to demanding deadlines. Excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential, as is the ability to build effective relationships with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders. A relevant technical or commercial qualification would be advantageous, alongside a methodical, commercially focused and collaborative approach.
