We are seeking experienced Project Managers to lead major rock tunnelling and underground construction packages within a large-scale transport infrastructure programme in the Stockholm region. This is an opportunity to take responsibility for complex projects that will improve regional connectivity and require close collaboration across design, construction, environmental, safety and stakeholder functions.
As Project Manager, you will plan, coordinate and manage tunnelling works from early planning and procurement through construction, commissioning and handover. Your responsibilities will include establishing project objectives, scope, schedules, budgets and delivery plans; managing consultants, contractors and technical specialists; monitoring progress, cost, quality and risk; and ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with contractual, legal, environmental and occupational health and safety requirements. You will lead project meetings, support procurement and contract administration, resolve technical and commercial issues, and provide clear reporting to programme and senior management. You will also contribute to change management, documentation, interface coordination and continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle.
To succeed in this role, you have several years of experience managing complex tunnelling, underground construction or major civil engineering projects. You understand rock excavation, support systems, blasting, ground conditions, construction logistics and the interfaces between design and production. Experience with contracts, procurement and risk management in large infrastructure projects is highly valued. You are structured, decisive and commercially aware, with the ability to build trust and communicate effectively with contractors, engineers, authorities and other stakeholders. A relevant university degree or equivalent professional experience is required, as well as strong spoken and written English. Knowledge of Swedish construction practices and Swedish language skills would be an advantage. The role offers the chance to make a lasting contribution to a strategically important infrastructure project while working in a technically challenging and collaborative environment.
