This role will coordinate technical, financial, permitting, procurement, and stakeholder activities to ensure projects are thoroughly evaluated, accurately scoped, and positioned for successful execution. The successful candidate will manage multiple projects simultaneously, establish clear schedules and deliverables, and maintain strong communication across internal teams, customers, consultants, utilities, and contractors.
Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining pre-construction schedules, budgets, risk registers, and project documentation; coordinating site assessments, surveys, utility interconnection activities, permitting, engineering, and constructability reviews; and managing requests for proposals, contractor selection, and subcontractor engagement. The Program Manager will review design packages, cost estimates, and technical proposals, identify potential project risks, and lead the resolution of scope, schedule, and budget issues. Additional duties include supporting contract negotiations, preparing status reports and presentations, tracking project metrics, and improving processes, tools, and standards used across the pre-construction portfolio.
Qualified candidates will bring several years of experience managing renewable energy, construction, engineering, infrastructure, or other complex capital projects, with demonstrated knowledge of commercial solar, energy storage, electrical systems, permitting, and utility coordination preferred. A bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business, or a related field is desirable. Strong organizational, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to interpret technical documents and financial information. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, comfortable working across functions, and capable of making sound decisions in a fast-moving environment. Experience with project management software, construction estimating, contract administration, and relevant industry standards is also advantageous.
