We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to lead the delivery of complex transportation infrastructure projects from planning and design through to construction and completion. This role will provide technical leadership, project coordination and engineering expertise across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring that projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule and in accordance with contractual, regulatory and quality requirements.

Key responsibilities will include managing engineering activities, reviewing designs and technical documentation, coordinating consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders, and supporting project planning, cost control and risk management. You will monitor progress against approved programmes, identify and resolve technical issues, and ensure that changes, variations and claims are properly assessed and documented. The role will also involve overseeing site investigations, construction methodology, quality assurance and compliance with relevant transport, civil engineering, health and safety and environmental standards. You may be required to mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement across project delivery processes.

Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering, transportation engineering or a related discipline, together with substantial experience delivering transportation or major infrastructure projects. Professional registration or chartered status is highly desirable. You will have strong knowledge of road, rail, public transport or associated civil infrastructure design and construction, with the ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and contracts. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving and organisational skills are essential, along with experience using relevant engineering, project management and reporting tools. A proactive approach, sound commercial awareness and a strong commitment to safety, quality and sustainable outcomes will be highly valued.
