We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join a collaborative engineering team delivering a varied portfolio of civil infrastructure and development projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to build practical experience, develop technical expertise and work towards professional registration while contributing to projects from concept through to construction.

Working under the guidance of experienced engineers, you will assist with the preparation of feasibility studies, design calculations, technical drawings, specifications, reports and cost estimates. Your responsibilities will include supporting the design of roads, drainage systems, utilities, earthworks and other civil infrastructure; carrying out site inspections, surveys and investigations; reviewing contractor submissions; monitoring construction progress; and helping to ensure that work complies with approved designs, relevant standards, health and safety requirements and environmental legislation. You will also liaise with clients, contractors, consultants and statutory authorities, attend project meetings and maintain accurate project records.

Applicants should hold, or be working towards, a degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering and have a strong interest in developing a career within the civil engineering sector. Eligibility for, or progress towards, professional registration is desirable. Experience with engineering design and documentation software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar platforms, would be advantageous, as would familiarity with relevant British Standards, design guidance and construction practices. You will need sound analytical and problem-solving skills, good written and verbal communication, attention to detail and the ability to manage priorities effectively. A willingness to learn, contribute to a team and occasionally travel to project sites is essential. A full driving licence may be required depending on project locations.
