We are seeking a Commissioning Engineer – Mechanical to support the safe, efficient and successful delivery of complex engineering projects. Working as part of a multidisciplinary project team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and executing mechanical commissioning activities from system completion through to operational handover. The role may involve working across industrial, infrastructure, energy or process environments, with regular collaboration between construction, engineering, operations, vendors and client representatives.

Your duties will include reviewing mechanical designs, specifications, drawings and commissioning documentation; developing inspection, testing and commissioning plans; preparing method statements, procedures, schedules and risk assessments; and verifying that installed systems meet approved requirements and applicable standards. You will coordinate pre-commissioning activities such as flushing, pressure testing, cleaning, lubrication, alignment and equipment checks, followed by functional testing and performance verification. You will also identify defects, investigate technical issues, manage punch-list items and ensure all work is completed safely and documented accurately. Clear reporting of progress, test results, outstanding actions and commissioning risks will be an important part of the position.

Applicants should have proven experience in mechanical commissioning, construction completion or start-up within a project-based environment. A relevant engineering qualification or equivalent technical experience is required, together with a sound understanding of mechanical systems, rotating equipment, piping, valves, pumps and associated plant. Experience interpreting engineering drawings, using commissioning management systems and coordinating subcontractors or specialist vendors would be advantageous. You must be confident working independently, able to prioritise competing deadlines and comfortable communicating with personnel at all levels. A strong commitment to health, safety, quality and environmental standards is essential, as is a methodical approach to problem-solving.
