We are seeking a Mid- to Senior-Level Wildlife Biologist / Project Manager to support environmental consulting projects throughout the San Diego region. This role is suited to an experienced professional who can combine strong field biology expertise with effective project coordination, client communication, and regulatory knowledge. The successful candidate will contribute to projects involving biological resources, habitat assessments, sensitive species, and environmental compliance across a range of development, infrastructure, and conservation settings.

Responsibilities will include planning and conducting biological surveys, wildlife and habitat assessments, nesting bird surveys, vegetation monitoring, jurisdictional evaluations, and pre-construction clearance inspections. You will prepare technical reports, biological constraints analyses, mitigation and monitoring plans, and permit-related documentation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The role will also involve supervising and mentoring biologists and field staff, coordinating subcontractors, reviewing technical work, managing schedules and budgets, and maintaining accurate project records. Regular communication with clients, agencies, contractors, and internal project teams will be essential.

Applicants should have a degree in biology, ecology, environmental science, or a related discipline, along with several years of progressively responsible experience in wildlife biology, environmental consulting, or a comparable field. A strong understanding of Southern California ecosystems, sensitive species, habitat types, and relevant regulatory frameworks is required. Experience with CEQA, NEPA, the Endangered Species Act, Migratory Bird Treaty Act, California Fish and Game Code, and local permitting processes is highly valued. The ideal candidate will have excellent technical writing, organizational, and interpersonal skills; demonstrated project management experience; and the ability to work independently in challenging field conditions. A valid driver’s license, willingness to travel locally, and flexibility to work occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends are also required. Experience with GIS, environmental databases, and agency coordination is preferred.
