We are seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to support the design, delivery and maintenance of a range of infrastructure and construction projects. The successful candidate will contribute to projects from initial feasibility through to completion, ensuring that technical solutions are safe, practical, sustainable and compliant with relevant standards, regulations and project requirements. This is an opportunity to work collaboratively with clients, contractors, consultants and internal teams on varied civil engineering schemes.
Your responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing civil engineering designs, calculations, specifications, drawings and technical reports; undertaking site visits, surveys and inspections; monitoring construction progress and quality; and providing technical advice throughout the project lifecycle. You will assist with cost estimates, programmes, risk assessments and procurement documentation, while identifying potential issues and developing effective solutions. The role will also involve coordinating with other disciplines, responding to technical queries, reviewing contractor submissions and maintaining accurate project records. Depending on experience, you may also support junior colleagues and contribute to the improvement of design standards, processes and working practices.
Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering and have relevant professional experience in a consultancy, contractor or client-side environment. Knowledge of current UK design standards, health and safety legislation, construction methods and environmental considerations is essential. Experience with industry software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, drainage or infrastructure design packages would be advantageous. A working knowledge of CDM regulations and relevant technical guidance is desirable. You will need strong analytical, organisational and communication skills, together with the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. A proactive approach, attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality engineering solutions are essential.
