We are seeking an experienced Project Planner to support the successful delivery of complex projects from initial planning through to completion. Working closely with project managers, engineers, contractors and other stakeholders, you will develop and maintain integrated project schedules, ensuring that key activities, milestones, dependencies and resource requirements are clearly identified and effectively managed. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and analytical professional who can provide accurate planning information and contribute to the delivery of projects safely, efficiently and to agreed timescales.
Your responsibilities will include preparing baseline programmes, updating schedules and monitoring progress against agreed plans. You will analyse programme performance, identify potential delays and risks, and work with relevant teams to develop appropriate recovery actions. You will produce regular progress reports, look-ahead schedules and key performance information for project reviews, while maintaining accurate records of changes, assumptions and decisions. You will also support forecasting, resource planning, change control and the assessment of time-related impacts arising from variations or emerging issues.
The successful candidate will have previous experience in project planning, scheduling or project controls, ideally within a construction, engineering, infrastructure or similarly complex environment. You should be confident using planning and scheduling software, with strong Excel skills and the ability to interpret programme data and communicate findings clearly. A methodical approach, excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines are essential. You will be comfortable challenging information constructively, building effective working relationships and presenting complex issues to a range of audiences. Knowledge of critical path analysis, earned value, risk management and change control would be advantageous. Relevant professional qualifications or membership of a recognised project management or planning body are desirable, although practical experience will also be valued.
