We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager / Project Engineer to support the delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects in the Conway, South Carolina area. This position will work closely with project managers, field teams, clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies to help ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements. The role is suited to an organised and technically minded professional who is eager to develop their career in the water and wastewater construction or engineering sector.

Responsibilities will include assisting with project planning, scheduling, cost tracking, procurement, subcontractor coordination, change management, and project documentation. You will review plans, specifications, submittals, RFIs, pay applications, and change orders; support quantity take-offs and estimates; monitor progress against project milestones; and help resolve technical or operational issues. The successful candidate may also attend site meetings, conduct field observations, coordinate inspections and testing, maintain project records, and communicate updates to internal and external stakeholders. A strong focus on quality, safety, environmental compliance, and accurate reporting is essential.

Applicants should have a degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in civil engineering, construction management, environmental engineering, or a related discipline. Previous experience supporting water, wastewater, utility, civil infrastructure, or heavy construction projects is preferred. Candidates should be comfortable reading engineering drawings and specifications, using Microsoft Office and project management software, and working with budgets, schedules, and construction documentation. Strong communication, problem-solving, organisational, and interpersonal skills are required, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively. A willingness to travel to project sites and obtain or maintain relevant safety certifications is expected. Professional engineering, construction, or project management credentials are advantageous but not essential.
