EWI Recruitment is seeking a high-caliber Senior Project Developer to spearhead the development of solar PV and battery storage (BESS) projects across East and Central Africa

The Mission
Lead Portfolio Strategy: Oversee the origination, de-risking, and permitting of utility-scale solar + BESS assets.Commercial Execution: Secure long-term PPA/offtake agreements and manage the end-to-end process for grid connection readiness.Stakeholder Diplomacy: Act as the primary interface for high-level relationships with government regulators, national utilities, and local communities.Project Delivery: Drive projects to become financially viable and investment-ready, ensuring all milestones are met on budget and on schedule.What You'll Bring
Proven Experience: A strong track record of delivering utility-scale renewable energy projects, specifically within Kenya, broader African, or comparable emerging markets.Technical & Regulatory Expertise: Mastery of land acquisition protocols, environmental permitting, grid interconnection studies, and complex PPA negotiations.Leadership & Influence: Advanced stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, lawyers, and consultants.Commercial Acumen: Deep understanding of financial modelling, project finance structures, and what it takes to make a project bankable for international investors.Why This Role?
