We are seeking a Wastewater Project Engineer to support the planning, design, and delivery of wastewater treatment and network infrastructure projects. This role will involve working across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and concept development through detailed design, construction support, commissioning, and handover. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors, regulators, and other stakeholders to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions that meet technical, environmental, and operational requirements.

Key responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing calculations, technical specifications, drawings, reports, schedules, and cost estimates; developing project scopes and delivery plans; coordinating design activities; monitoring progress, quality, risk, and budgets; and providing engineering support during construction and commissioning. You will assess existing assets and processes, identify improvements, contribute to hydraulic and process modelling, and help ensure compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards, health and safety requirements, and environmental obligations. The role may also include site visits, inspections, contractor liaison, technical problem-solving, and supporting the preparation of bids and business cases.

Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in civil, environmental, chemical, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline, with professional experience in wastewater treatment, water infrastructure, or a comparable engineering environment. Experience delivering projects in a regulated utility or infrastructure setting, along with knowledge of treatment processes, hydraulic principles, asset management, and construction practices, would be advantageous. Strong communication, organisation, commercial awareness, and analytical skills are essential, as is the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Professional registration or progress toward chartered status is desirable. A commitment to technical excellence, continuous improvement, sustainability, and safe working practices is expected.
