We are seeking a capable and motivated Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of engineering projects from initial planning through to completion. The role will involve coordinating technical activities, monitoring progress, and ensuring that projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to maintain clear communication and effective collaboration throughout each project lifecycle.
Your responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing technical documentation, programmes, method statements, risk assessments, and project reports. You will assist with design coordination, procurement, tender evaluations, cost tracking, and the resolution of technical issues. The successful candidate will monitor project performance against agreed specifications and milestones, identify potential risks or delays, and support the implementation of appropriate corrective actions. You will also attend site meetings, conduct inspections where required, verify completed works, and help ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards, quality procedures, health and safety requirements, and regulatory obligations.
Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, construction, or a related discipline, together with relevant experience supporting the delivery of engineering or infrastructure projects. Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. You should be confident using standard project management and engineering software, interpreting technical drawings and specifications, and producing accurate written reports. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach are required. Professional accreditation or progress towards chartered status would be advantageous, as would experience working in a regulated or technically complex environment.
