We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer specialising in dams and hydropower to lead the design, assessment and delivery of complex water infrastructure projects. This role will suit an experienced professional with a strong background in structural engineering, dam safety and hydropower development, who is confident working across the full project lifecycle. You will contribute technical expertise to major projects involving dams, spillways, intake structures, powerhouses, tunnels, flood protection works and associated civil infrastructure.

Your responsibilities will include developing and reviewing structural designs, calculations, specifications, technical reports and construction documentation. You will undertake condition assessments, safety evaluations, rehabilitation studies and risk-informed engineering reviews for existing and proposed assets. The role will involve selecting appropriate design methodologies, interpreting geotechnical and hydrological information, supporting numerical modelling, and ensuring that solutions meet relevant codes, standards and regulatory requirements. You will also provide technical guidance during construction, investigate design or site issues, and participate in inspections, commissioning and asset management activities.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors and external stakeholders, helping to manage technical interfaces, programme requirements, budgets and project risks. The successful candidate will hold a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and have substantial experience in dam engineering, hydropower or related heavy civil infrastructure. Professional registration or chartered status is desirable, along with knowledge of dam safety principles, structural analysis software and industry standards. Strong communication, report-writing and stakeholder management skills are essential, as is the ability to mentor engineers and take ownership of complex technical decisions. Occasional domestic or international travel may be required for site inspections and project delivery support.
