Contracts Manager - Hydropower / Pumped Storage Project (Romania)

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to support a major pumped storage hydropower project in Romania, currently in advanced development and scheduled to enter construction at the end of the year. This is a high-profile infrastructure scheme requiring strong commercial oversight and contract administration across complex civil works packages.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing contractual risk, supporting procurement strategy, administering construction contracts, and ensuring compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Lead contract administration across development and construction phases

Manage FIDIC-based contracts, including change management, claims, and dispute resolution

Support procurement, tender evaluation, and negotiation of major civil works packages

Monitor contractor performance against contractual obligations

Provide commercial guidance to project leadership and technical teams

Ensure contract compliance, risk mitigation, and proper documentation

Interface with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders

Requirements

Proven experience as a Contracts Manager on large infrastructure or energy projects

Strong working knowledge of FIDIC contract frameworks

Extensive heavy civil construction experience

Hydropower, dams, or major water infrastructure experience is highly advantageous

Demonstrated ability to manage claims, variations, and commercial risk

Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills

Ability to operate in a fast-moving, multi-disciplinary project environment
